Gwynie’s Christmas Pageant & Party

Every year Gwynie’s preschool puts on a wonderful Christmas Pageant.  This year Gwynie’s class song was “1..2..3 Kings Are We”.  It was such a sweet little song for a sweet little class.  Then all the classes sang a couple of songs together.  Their Spanish teacher taught them “Joy Joy Joy” or “Gozo Gozo Gozo” and the other song was “Just Like You Promised”. Each class leaves a few kiddos on stage after their performance to become part of a live nativity scene.  Gwynie’s class were the 3 wise men.  Gwynie was happy for her friends that got to be kings {and I think she was a bit relieved that it wasn’t her}.  Here are a few pictures from the pageant…

Gwynie’s Christmas Party was a few days later, but I thought I would go ahead and include the pictures in this post.  She had a blast!  They made placemats and got to eat all kinds of goodies.

Gwynie got all of her teachers an ornament that she picked out herself {okay…with a little guidance from Mom.  I didn’t think that ALL of her teachers would enjoy the pink flamingo dressed as Santa as much as Gwynie did.}

Is That MORE Snow?

We got home from Amarillo late Sunday night and the girls were talking about how much fun they had in the snow that had fallen earlier in the day before we left.  Gracie asked me if I thought it would snow at our house.  I told her that it wouldn’t snow anytime soon…if it did at all it would be in February or March.  Well…the girls were getting dressed for school Wednesday morning when I heard MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY…it’s SNOWING!!  I went to the window {not expecting to see much since I had look outside about 30 minutes prior} and saw this:

It's Snowing! It WAS snowing!

The girls couldn’t believe that they got to see snow TWICE in just four days!!Lance was in Mississippi so the girls made sure that I emailed this picture to him so that he could see it too.  After the girls got dressed I let them play in the snow for just a few minutes before we had to leave for school.  It was COLD and I didn’t want to take up their play time so I only snapped a couple pictures.

dsc_0009 (2)The girls LOVE to catch snowflakes on their tongue {who doesn’t}.  Gracie REALLY wanted to ride the bus to school that day so she had a reason to stand out in to snow longer but I told her it was just too cold.  I did agree to let her out at the beginning of the drop off lane so that she could at least walk in it on the way into school. She did remind me on our way there that I said that it wouldn’t snow until February. Good thing I am not a meteorologist for the news. ;)

It was fun while it lasted {which was until about lunch time}.  The girls ask me almost everyday now if it’s going to snow.  I just started telling them that it’s not likely, but you never know!

SNOW!!!

We knew that some winter weather was moving into the Panhandle, but we were expecting it to hit Sunday afternoon after we were already headed back home.  Well, much to our surprise we woke up Sunday morning to SNOW!!!

The girls were on cloud nine!  They couldn’t believe it was actually snowing.  The weather people were predicting 1/2” but it snowed all morning and I bet they ended up getting 3-4 inches.

We had a great time in the first snow of the year.  I was glad the girls got to play in it.  I figured it might be their one & only snow this year.  But little did we know, they would get their 2nd snow in just a couple days…
