Gwynie's Dance Class

Since Gwynie isn't quite old enough for swim lessons yet, we decided to sign her up for dance class. The class was a six week long session...not too long, not too short. She was by far the youngest one in her class. From talking with the other mom's I gathered that most of the girls were about to turn 5 and Gwynie is just about to turn 3. So needless to say Gwynie's attention span wasn't quite the same as the other girls. However, she had a great time & we will put her in dance again, but I think we will wait another year.

Here are some pictures. The glass that the parents stand behind is safety glass which has a visible wire mess in it. Because of the mesh I wasn't able to use my flash so the pictures are a bit yellow. I need to do some research on how to take better pictures in that situation.

During each class they got to do a "solo". This was my favorite party of the class and I think it was Gwynie's favorite too!

Gwynie had great focus for the 1st half of the class which was the ballet portion. After they put their tap shoes on...well, Gwynie was it her own little world.

Not loving the load noise of the tap shoes

After class was over her teacher let the parents it to get some pictures...YEAH!!!

She looked SO PRECIOUS in her little dance outfits!
Time to get a sticker!
This was Gwynie's ballerina pose!

It was a fun 6 weeks to watch Gwynie get to do HER own special class! Like I said, we will try dance again, but first she is going to be taking her first swimming lessons this summer...can't
wait!

Gracie's 6th Birthday PARTY!!!

Before her party Gracie had a softball game. She was so thrilled that Grams, Grumps & Brylie were going to be able to watch her play. Gracie did great in her game! She got to play catcher for the first time (we she LOVES because you get to catch & throw the ball a ton). Those of us in the stands were having to hold on for dear life in fear that we might be blown away...it was SO windy!!! The good thing was the wind was blowing straight at us, so at least we didn't have to worry about our hair blowing in our face, HA!

Grumps trying to keep the girls from blowing away!!

Gwynie had a great time playing with Brylie during the game.

Daddy helping Gracie get all her catcher equipment on for the first time!

So CUTE!!!

Good game girls!

Now...it's PARTY TIME!!!!

After the game we ran home, got cleaned up and headed to Gracie's party at Peter Piper Pizza! She had a great turn out with all her friends! Here are a few pictures of the event...

Let them eat CAKE!!!

Nana blessed us by making the cake again this year! It turned out great!! The girls have such fun every year calling Nana to place their birthday cake orders. It was delicious!!!

HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY GRACIE!!!

Celebrating Gracie's 6th Birthday!

We had a fun filled weekend celebrating Gracie's 6th birthday!! It started on Friday, which was her actual birthday!! We did our traditional birthday wake-up...everyone in the family wakes the birthday person up by singing happy birthday to them! Gracie LOVES this tradition and can't help but to remind us about it the night before. She was so concerned that she would wake up too early and forget to stay in bed to wait for her birthday song that she made herself this sign as a reminder and taped it on top of her door knob in case she got up...
She did come down at 5:30 in the morning to ask us what was taking us so long, HA! I don't think she got much sleep that night. We were able to talk her into going back to sleep. Then an hour later we came in and sang her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE GIRL!!!!

Then it was time to open presents!!! This is another fun tradition we have...you get to open your presents as soon as you wake up!!

Opening her present from Gwynie!

A glittery baton...thanks, sissy!!

She got mostly clothes from Mommy & Daddy. This is not the most excited thing to her yet, but she is coming around. She LOVES the Jonas Brothers so we got her a Jonas Brothers t-shirt and some Camp Rock sandals to go with it. Gracie likes to say that Joe Jonas "is hot". I am not a big fan of a 6 year old referring to a boy as "hot" so I am constantly telling her to call him cute or handsome. Geez...I'm old.

After she opened all her presents we asked her to let Marty out. We ask her to do this ALL the time, so she didn't think much of it. But outside the door waiting for her was her BIG gift...

A new bicycle!!!

She had really outgrown her 1st bike that Santa gave her a couple years ago...She was really excited!!!

Taking the new bike out for a early morning spin!

Such fun, but she had to come in and get ready for school.

This was Gracie's birthday girl pose...I think we might be in trouble in a few years.

Daddy dropped her off then we all brought her lunch at school. During snack time she brought cookies for all her classmates so that they could help her celebrate her big day!!

Lance stayed home with Gwynie while I picked Gracie up from school for out "girl day". She has been telling me for months that she wanted to have a "girl day" with me on her birthday. It was so much fun!!

But the day wasn't over yet! We saved the BIGGEST surprise for last! Grams, Grumps & Brylie drove down from Amarillo so that they could come the Gracie's birthday party. What a special treat!

I can't believe the two precious girls are already 6 years old...wow!!

I think Gracie's 6th Birthday was a special one! But, the fun wasn't over yet...she still had her actual party to go to the next day!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACELYN!!

Gracie's Kindergarten Choir Performance

At Gracie's school they do all of their programs during the Friday morning assembly which they call "Friday Morning Live". There are pros & cons to this...but for the most part I think it is a good thing.

This past Friday The entire Kindergarten came together and sang 2 songs that they had been working on in Choir practice. The songs were "If All The Raindrops Were Lemon Drops & Gum Drops" & "Let's Go Fly a Kite". Two kids from each class were picked as "dancers" and Gracie was one of those kiddos. Here are some pictures of their precious performance...
Getting ready for it to start
Looking a wee bit nervous.
It's SHOW TIME...

She did so great!! The music teacher picked a couple of really fun songs! Way to go Gracie!!!

Meeting Baby Preston

Preston has been home since Easter Sunday and he and Kathy are doing great, Praise God! Our Easter holiday was truly blessed by his arrival and I wanted to share some of the pictures that were taken over the weekend. I will post some actual Easter pictures soon, but for now I thought I would keep the spotlight on Preston!! This will be the "waiting room" version of Preston's birth story. You'll have to wait on Kathy's posts for the delivery room version.

FYI - There are more pictures of Nana & Mimi with baby Preston, but they are on Paw Paw's camera. When I get those I will update the slide show.
