A few months ago our friends Mary & Greg asked us if we were interested in going to The Rock & Worship Roadshow with them to celebrate Greg’s birthday. They had been last year and were just raving about what a great concert it had been. We were sold and have been looking forward to it for weeks.
We got to the American Airlines Center at 4:30 to get a place in line. The great part about the concert is that the tickets are only $10 each!!! You have to get there early to get in line because the seating is first come first serve. The hour we had to wait just flew by and the weather was awesome {we were worried we might get drenched but there was not a drop…Thanks God!!}. Here are a few pictures of us passing our time in line.
After a little over and hour in line the doors opened and it was time for the show! We didn’t have too worry about rushing to find a place to sit because part of our group had been lucky enough to receive VIP passes so they were able to go inside and save our seats! This was great because not only did we get to pay a great price for the tickets but we got great seats too! Thanks Karen, Clarice, Beth and Hayley!!!

{Gracie was most excited about Francesca Battistelli…she LOVES “Free To Be Me”}
You know the saying that if the music is “too loud” then you’re too old. Well, this band made me feel OLD! Their music was SO LOUD and I could not make out one word of what they were saying. I just kept thinking to myself…I have no idea, but I guess they are screaming something about Jesus. I was not the only one in our group that was a little baffled by them, here is a shot of Beth trying to concentrate on their lyrics:
Ha! Notice the ear plugs on that kiddo behind her…I’m just sayin’.
The funny thing is that you could tell that everyone in the “younger crowd” was there to see THEM! They were entertaining for sure, but I can’t really imagine myself raising my hands up in praise to their music. But that is also why I think their music is awesome. It may not be for me…but it’s for someone…and God knows that!
The last two bands of the night were David Crowder Band & MercyMe
The whole night was just great! It was such a blessing to spend a Friday night with family and friends listening to music while praising and worshiping the Lord. Thank you for the invitation Mary & Greg. We had a wonderful time and look forward to The Rock & Worship Roadshow 2011!!
