The Taylor Family: Celebrating Gracie's 6th Birthday!

We had a fun filled weekend celebrating Gracie's 6th birthday!! It started on Friday, which was her actual birthday!! We did our traditional birthday wake-up...everyone in the family wakes the birthday person up by singing happy birthday to them! Gracie LOVES this tradition and can't help but to remind us about it the night before. She was so concerned that she would wake up too early and forget to stay in bed to wait for her birthday song that she made herself this sign as a reminder and taped it on top of her door knob in case she got up...

She did come down at 5:30 in the morning to ask us what was taking us so long, HA! I don't think she got much sleep that night. We were able to talk her into going back to sleep. Then an hour later we came in and sang her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Then it was time to open presents!!! This is another fun tradition we have...you get to open your presents as soon as you wake up!!

She got mostly clothes from Mommy & Daddy. This is not the most excited thing to her yet, but she is coming around. She LOVES the Jonas Brothers so we got her a Jonas Brothers t-shirt and some Camp Rock sandals to go with it. Gracie likes to say that Joe Jonas "is hot". I am not a big fan of a 6 year old referring to a boy as "hot" so I am constantly telling her to call him cute or handsome. Geez...I'm old.

After she opened all her presents we asked her to let Marty out. We ask her to do this ALL the time, so she didn't think much of it. But outside the door waiting for her was her BIG gift...

A new bicycle!!!

She had really outgrown her 1st bike that Santa gave her a couple years ago...She was really excited!!!

Daddy dropped her off then we all brought her lunch at school. During snack time she brought cookies for all her classmates so that they could help her celebrate her big day!!

Lance stayed home with Gwynie while I picked Gracie up from school for out "girl day". She has been telling me for months that she wanted to have a "girl day" with me on her birthday. It was so much fun!!

But the day wasn't over yet! We saved the BIGGEST surprise for last! Grams, Grumps & Brylie drove down from Amarillo so that they could come the Gracie's birthday party. What a special treat!
