The New "Park"!

For their birthdays Lance & I have been planning for some time now to get the girls a new swing set for the backyard. They had a Little Tikes one which they loved, but Gracie was really outgrowing it and Gwynie wasn't too far behind. Lance went and ordered the new swing set last Friday thinking that it would be 4-6 weeks until in was installed...perfect timing for their birthdays. Much to our surprise they were able to put in on Monday!! So the girls birthday surprise came a bit early this year.

It took some creative driving around the house & planning, but I was able to keep the swing set a secret until Lance got home from work. I pretended to go out to get the mail while Lance told the girls they needed to clean up outside. I ran around to the back of the house and was able to catch their reactions with my camera.

Lance and I love to surprise the girls. We've made everything into a surprise at some point...what we are having for dinner, which park we are going to play at, fun activities, visits with/from family & friends, telling the girls to expect Daddy home a day later from a business trip than when he is actually going to be home. Most of the surprises don't cost us anything, but we get to turn a simple everyday task into something exciting and fun. This time the Lord blessed us with the ability to surprise the girls in a big way. I will never forget the excitement & joy on their faces that day and how much fun we had as a family playing on our "New Park"...that's what Gwynie calls the swing set. Thanks be to God!
